(Patria) - Several thousand citizens of Trebinje gathered today in front of the Palace of Justice to express their support for the Jerković family, whose son was brutally beaten last weekend.
The boy's father, Milad Jerković, said that this is a voice against the events in the city, and that hooligans should be removed from the streets and that judicial institutions should do their job.
“We demand that the attackers be removed from the streets until the case is resolved. I believe the prosecution made mistakes. We will gather again next week if they do not respond to our request,” Jerković stated.
He added that he wants justice so that what happened to his child does not happen to any other child in Trebinje. Representatives of the City Administration of Trebinje also provided support.
Otherwise, five minors are suspected of beating a teenager in Trebinje six days ago with sticks and other objects.
The beaten teenager underwent surgery immediately at the Trebinje hospital due to his injuries, and his health condition is stable.
Citizens are dissatisfied with the decision of the Trebinje District Public Prosecutor's Office, which did not request custody for the minors suspected of beating their peer on Saturday.
The Prosecutor's Office announced that there was no legal reason for detaining minors in custody.
This act has been classified as a serious injury, and the Center for Social Work is involved, which should decide on possible measures against the minors.
