Thousands of citizens protest in the heart of Sarajevo - Marouf, Karić, Naser: Stop the killing of Palestine and its children!

(Patria) - A protest in support of Palestine, peace, and against crimes and genocide against Palestinians began around 11 AM in Sarajevo, on the plateau opposite the City Hall.

According to Patria's reporting team, thousands of people have gathered on the plateau, mostly carrying Palestinian flags, but also numerous banners.

"Palestine will be free, freedom for Palestine," chanted the crowd.

At 11:55 AM, the attendees were invited to remember the killed Palestinians by reciting Fatiha and observing a minute of silence, or in some other way.

Sara, originally from Palestine, addressing the attendees, said she comes from the most beautiful, but also the saddest country.

"They expelled us, they killed us, but they did not kill Palestine within us. Our Palestine will live as long as there is even one Palestinian, and we will not stop. Many children in Palestine are hungry now, most of them will not even wake up. Only in Palestine does a mother carry a child twice, when she gives birth and when she carries them to death. Why is the Israeli aggressor allowed to kill. Thank you, our Bosnian brothers," Sara said.

A protest in support of Palestine will also be held in Tuzla starting at 2 PM.

According to Patria's reporting team, besides the Mayor Karić, the protest is attended by Member of the BiH State Parliament Safet Kešo (SDA), Professor Enver Išerić (NES), legal expert Sifet Kukuruz, President of the Federation of BiH War Invalids Paraplegics Mujo Aganović...

"Today Sarajevo bleeds, today Sarajevo stands in solidarity with Gaza. Tell me, who can endure 17 years of isolation and walls. Don't Palestinians have the right to free movement, to freedom, food, water, electricity, to live their lives as human beings? Sarajevo has bled before, and I am a witness to that. And today, all of you are here to support the Palestinian people, long live Palestine," said Dr. Nabil Naser, of Palestinian origin, adding that he wished the American administration would do at least 20 percent for Palestine of what it did for BiH.

Naser demanded that Netanyahu and his generals be tried in an international court for war crimes, after which the crowd chanted "killers, killers".

The Mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić, thanked everyone who came and raised their voice for justice and truth.

"Sarajevo has always been on the right side of history, Sarajevo has always been on the side of the vulnerable and justice. We know best what it is like to be without water and what it is like when children die. Sarajevo, as the city under the longest siege in history, has the right to stand with Gaza," said Karić.

"We demand to be allowed to live, raise your voice to stop Israel from committing genocide against the Palestinian people. This is a disgrace to the whole world. It is time for peace, I call from Sarajevo to stop the war, for the Security Council to stop the war and for a two-state solution to be found. I do not want future generations to live in war. Please, please, please stop the war. Palestinians are a people yearning for freedom, we extend our hand to the Israeli people and call on the Israeli people to raise their voice against the criminal Netanyahu and Biden, who are using Palestine for an election campaign," said Majed Maarouf, president of the Palestinian Community in BiH, adding: "Do not call us terrorists, we are not."

On numerous banners carried by the attendees, there are calls to stop the bombing, freedom for Palestine, and citizens are reminded that the international community said never again after Srebrenica, and now Gaza is happening...

Also, there are messages on the banners calling for Israel to stop its attacks and similar.

The Palestinian Community in BiH, as the organizer of the protest gathering, called on citizens for the event to proceed peacefully and with dignity.
