Councillor from Živinice Suad Hadžić rewarded with a managerial position in BH Telecom for joining NIP

(Patria) - Suad Hadžić, a councillor in the Živinice City Council, will continue his political activities in the People and Justice Party (NiP), the party announced.

Hadžić, together with economist and FBiH Parliament representative Admir Čavalić, officially signed the NiP membership form yesterday, and party president Elmedin Konaković and Federal Minister Adnan Delić welcomed the new members.

- Suad Hadžić, a councillor from Živinice, is one of the very interesting, agile, and brave councillors who has been fighting against injustice and corruption for many years.

The BiH public may not know him well, but in Živinice, both his opponents and partners know him well, and he certainly brings quality to our struggles - said Konaković.

Before deciding to direct his political capacity and quality towards NiP, Hadžić was a member of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina, which he left in March this year.

Along with him, the vice-presidents and all members of the City Council of SBiH Živinice submitted their resignations at that time due to, as they stated, disagreements with internal party processes.

In addition to his political engagement, the "agile" councillor from Živinice is a long-time employee of BH Telecom, where he has performed various jobs.

Shortly before joining NiP, Suad Hadžić was promoted to a significant managerial position by a decision of BH Telecom's management, headed by NiP cadre Amel Kovačević - at the end of April, Hadžić was appointed regional manager of telecom centers in the BH Telecom Directorate in Tuzla.

So, the sequence of events went like this: Councillor Hadžić leaves one party, then, by a decision of a cadre from another party, receives a significant promotion in a public company, and then officially joins that very party.

Party loyalty was thus rewarded with a new position and associated privileges, which represents one of the most harmful forms of abuse of (political) influence, writes Istraga.ba.

"Whoever directly or indirectly gives, offers, or promises a reward or other benefit to a person holding an official, social, or influential position to mediate with an official or responsible person to perform or not perform an official or other act, shall be punished by imprisonment from six months to five years," states Article 382a of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which pertains to giving a reward or other form of benefit for influence peddling.

In March 2021, the Court of Honor of the BH Telecom Union expelled Suad Hadžić from the union organization due to, as stated, acting contrary to the provisions of the Statute and causing "particularly great damage" to the interests of the BHT Union.

The Court of Honor then determined that Hadžić, as the commissioner of the Tuzla Union Organization, among other things, spread untrue stories about the reasons and methods of conducting the strike, and persuaded BH Telecom workers to abandon the strike.
