Council of National Minorities Appeals for Attention to Minority Members in BiH

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Chairman of the Council of National Minorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Andrija Svatok, on behalf of the Council of National Minorities of BiH, issued an appeal to all competent institutions in BiH to pay special attention and provide support and assistance to members of national minorities in our country, the Parliament of BiH announced.

"The Council of National Minorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the occasion of the coronavirus pandemic in the world and in Bosnia and Herzegovina, appeals to all competent institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina to pay special attention to members of national minorities. From the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, both entities, the Brčko District and local communities, the Council of National Minorities of BiH requests that they urgently ensure assistance and delivery of food items, disinfectants, masks and all other necessities for safely overcoming this crisis to all members of national minorities, especially members of the Roma national minority, as the most numerous in Bosnia and Herzegovina," the appeal states.

At the same time, they add, the Council of National Minorities of BiH appeals to all members of national minorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to adhere to all measures adopted by the competent authorities in this situation, and calls on all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to behave responsibly and show solidarity in these difficult times.
