Council of Ministers of BiH to meet on Monday: No laws, but admission of cadets to state police agencies will be considered

(Patria) - The session of the Council of Ministers of BiH is scheduled for Monday, May 20, and again there are no laws on the agenda, but there is no shortage of agenda items.

At the proposal of the Ministry of Security of BiH, ministers will consider the Proposal of the Decision on determining the Plan for admitting cadets to police agencies at the level of institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2024.

The situation is difficult in the BiH Border Police, which has been facing a shortage of police officers for several years amidst the migrant crisis. Members of the RS Ministry of Interior, SIPA, and a certain number of members of DKPT are joining the BiH Border Police as assistance.

A significant number of police officers will retire from the BiH Border Police this year and next. The admission of a new generation of cadets is underway, but they can only enter the work process after the admission and training are completed, which is expected at the beginning of next year.

The Director of the BiH Border Police, Mirko Kuprešaković, announced that after this competition, a new admission of cadets will follow in order to replace the departing staff as quickly as possible.

The plan for admitting cadets also applies to the other two state agencies, SIPA and DKPT, where generational changes are also occurring this year and next.

The agenda also includes reports on the work of the institutions of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which were not considered at the last session.
