Council of Ministers of BiH Approves 650,000 KM for Demining in 2025

(Patria) - The Council of Ministers of BiH, upon the proposal of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, adopted the Decision on the allocation of funds from the multi-year project for co-financing demining costs in BiH for the period 2025-2027 for the year 2025.

The Decision was adopted with nine votes, while one member of the Council of Ministers of BiH did not exercise their voting right during today's telephone session.

The total available funds for projects from the multi-year project for co-financing demining costs in BiH for the period 2025-2027 for the year 2025 amount to 650,000 KM and are allocated from the budget of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, specifically 130,000 KM each to the municipality of Trnovo in RS and the city of Zvornik, 97,500 KM each to the municipality of Bugojno and the city of Bosanska Krupa, 81,000 KM each to the Posavina Canton and the municipality of Kiseljak, and 33,000 KM to the municipality of Ravno.

Funds for co-financing projects in the field of mine action are allocated upon the proposal of the Mine Action Centre in BiH in accordance with the following criteria: the canton, municipality, or city project is on the priority list of the BiH Demining Plan for the current year, and the canton, municipality, or city undertakes to provide funds at least equal to 30% of the amount allocated by the Decision on the allocation of funds for project implementation.

Earlier, the Council of Ministers of BiH adopted the Decision on approving the multi-year project for co-financing demining costs for the period 2025-2027, with a total value of two million KM (650,000 KM each in 2025 and 2026, and 700,000 KM in 2027), thereby confirming its commitment to accelerating the process of clearing mined areas in BiH.
