Council of Ministers of BiH allocates 30,000 KM from state coffers to Gorica Dodik's Foundation 'Srpska kuća' despite US sanctions!

By: A. Vrabac

The Council of Ministers of BiH at its session on December 7th made a decision to approve funds from the current reserve of the BiH institutions' budget in the amount of 30,000 KM, which were transferred to the Foundation 'Srpska kuća' headed by Gorica Dodik, daughter of RS President Milorad Dodik. The decision was made at the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, headed by SNSD cadre Staša Košarac.

Gorica Dodik and Igor Dodik have been on the OFAC sanctions list since October 2023, along with several of their companies. However, this did not prevent the Council of Ministers of BiH from giving money from the state coffers to her foundation.

The Foundation 'Srpska kuća' was established in January 2023 in Laktaši. Gorica Dodik is the president of the Management Board, and Jelena Trninić Milićević is a member of the Management Board, who is also an advisor to the Minister of Trade and Tourism in the RS Government, Denis Šulić.

Gorica Dodik hosts the show of the same name, 'Srpska kuća', on Alternativna televizija (ATV), which has also been under US sanctions since January 2022, when sanctions were also imposed on Milorad Dodik.

ATV is currently advertising the broadcast of a special show and the first episode of 'Srpska kuća' on its program and social media, scheduled for January 6th and 7th, 2024, on ATV.

Given that decisions of the Council of Ministers of BiH cannot be adopted without the vote of at least one representative of the three constituent peoples, the decisive vote for this decision was cast by Sevlid Hurtić, the Minister of Human Rights and Refugees. This is confirmed by the Minutes from the session held on December 7th, which lists the attendees. On that day, Zukan Helez, Elmedin Konaković, and Edin Forto were not present. Hurtić was the only Bosniak with voting rights at that session.
