VIDEO World-class, and ours: Amel Tuka third in the world

Bosnian athlete Amel Tuka won his first medal at this prestigious competition in the 800-metre race at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing, reports the Patria news agency.

Tuka won the bronze medal. First place went to David Lekuta Rudisha with a time of 1:45.84. Second place went to Adam Kszczot with a time of 1:46.08, while Tuka finished the race with a time of 1:46.30.

In the semi-finals on Sunday, Tuka won with a time of 1:44.84. With his results in the qualifiers and semi-finals, he proved that he is currently one of the biggest favourites, and he arrived in Beijing with the best time of the season.

The medal came as a reward for the great effort of this athlete from Kakanj, who, with the help of his family and a few individuals, brought a historic medal to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
