VIDEO Šabanović: The greatest pain is injustice and the freedom of genocide deniers to belittle us!

Interviewed by: A. Čorbo-Zećo

The living wounds we carry are open and painful. They will hurt as long as we live and walk this world. They hurt most in these days, and a person is most pained by injustice and disenfranchisement, as deniers of crime and genocide try in every way to minimize and belittle us, says Adel Šabanović, a survivor of the Srebrenica genocide, in an interview with Patria.

"We saw on Serbian television joking and telling jokes at the expense of genocide victims, at the expense of victims hidden in mass graves. The criminals dug up those graves, moved bones, hid them, and they know well where they are, but they won't say where they are," notes Šabanović.

Few have not heard of Adel Šabanović from Srebrenica. As a boy, he survived the massacre in Zaklopača in 1992, and three years later the Srebrenica genocide. During the war, Adel endured every possible ordeal - he witnessed monstrous crimes by the VRS (Army of Republika Srpska), and as a boy, he washed knives after the slaughter of Bosniaks!

Nothing remains of his family home. Everything is overgrown, and weeds hide the former traces of life.

"Nothing is left of my house, just a bit of stone sticking out, and the foundations are overgrown, and now it's forest. And of many of my neighbors and friends, nothing remains," said Šabanović.
