(Patria) - Numerous citizens gathered today in front of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina to pay tribute to the student who died in the tragedy that shook Bosnia and Herzegovina yesterday. In silence, with flowers in their hands, they sent a powerful message – “Let's not look away!”. Students of the Academy of Fine Arts carried banners with various messages.
At the site where 23-year-old Erdoan Morankić from Brčko lost his life, citizens left flowers, sharing the pain with his family. In the accident, which occurred when a tram derailed, four people were injured, including a minor whose leg was amputated and whose life doctors are still fighting for.
“How many times will children pay the price for someone's negligence?” read one of the banners carried by those gathered. Others questioned the priorities of the authorities, stating: “How many modern trams can be bought instead of helicopters?”
At 12:13 PM, citizens blocked traffic towards Baščaršija, expressing outrage and demanding accountability. The discontent culminated in a cry: “We must all be one, to come out and rebel.”
The gathering was peaceful, but marked by strong emotions. Tearful faces, silence interrupted by sobs, and banners demanding accountability testified to deep pain, but also to the determination that such tragedies must not happen again.
Citizens say this is not a time for silence, but for unity and concrete actions that will prevent similar accidents from ever happening again.
