(Patria) - The crime chronicle is daily filled with news about traffic accidents mostly caused by negligent drivers who endanger other road users with dangerous maneuvers.

One such case was recorded on Saturday on the road from Buna to Mostar, where it is clearly visible how an irresponsible driver overtakes other cars in prohibited places, endangering safety.

Such drivers deserve the harshest penalties, and the Mostar police should react more rigorously to such cases, as it is a classic violation of the law, which is subject to fines. Strict penalties are the only way to stop the rampage of irresponsible individuals on the roads.

According to BiHAMK data, during 2023 a total of 35,148 traffic accidents occurred, of which 7,665 accidents with fatalities and injuries were recorded, and 27,488 traffic accidents with material damage.

255 people lost their lives, while 1,695 were seriously injured, and 9,249 suffered minor bodily injuries. Thus, on average, slightly more than 96 traffic accidents occurred daily, of which 21 involved fatalities/injuries.
