(Patria) - Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido addressed his supporters from an unknown location.
- Today Maduro does not have the support of the army. Tomorrow, on May Day, we will continue on the streets, throughout the entire country, Guaido said in a two-and-a-half-minute video recorded at an unknown location. The video is of rather poor quality.
In Venezuela, it is still April 30, and Guaido is announcing major protests for the first day of May.
He said that what is happening is not a military coup but a peaceful rebellion against a dictator who is afraid to show his face to the people of Venezuela.
However, immediately after Guaido's address appeared on the internet, Maduro also responded.
He, as reported by the British Guardian, said that the coup had failed.
During his address, Maduro surrounded himself with politicians and military officials. He said that Guaido's coup attempt had been defeated and asked for applause for, as he said, the brave army.
