Large fire on the hill above Mostar, firefighters defend BH Telecom repeater

(Patria) - A fire broke out above the Mostar settlement of Zalik today around 1:30 PM.

The fire spread rapidly towards Fortica hill, and the fire line reached close to the popular viewpoint and the sign "BiH volimo te".

As reported by Hercegovina.info, one building on Fortica has burned, and flames and black smoke are visible.

Due to strong wind and inaccessible terrain, firefighting is difficult, and all available firefighting units are engaged on the ground.

Bljesak.info unofficially learns from the field that firefighters are currently intensively defending the BH Telecom repeater located on the hill above Mostar.

The fire has approached the building, and firefighters are taking all measures to protect it from the flames.

An Air Tractor is also participating in extinguishing the fire, trying to contain the spread of the fire above the city from the air.
