(Patria) – Great Britain plans to intensify coronavirus testing to 25,000 tests per day by mid-April.
This is double the current capacity of 12,750 daily tests.
In addition to patients admitted to hospitals, medical staff will also be tested.
On Monday alone, 8,240 people were tested, while 900 medical workers were tested over the weekend.
Previous capacities were focused on testing critically ill individuals, upon doctor's recommendation.
The new doubled capacities will include other categories of the population.
The number of coronavirus infections in Great Britain is at least 25,150, and 1,780 people have died due to complications.
