Arrival of Pope Francis used to secure directorship!

The government in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been established, and in the coming days, coalition partners SDA, DF, and HDZBiH will officially begin meetings on which public company will go to whom, writes the news agency Patria.

Among the more attractive companies, besides BH Telecom and Elektroprivreda, is certainly the Sarajevo International Airport, headed by Ivica Veličan. As is known, Veličan is an SDP cadre, very close to Zlatko Lagumdžija, who first wanted to be the Minister of Transport and Communications through the Democratic Front, and when that didn't work out, he now aims to remain in the director's position at the Sarajevo airport.

As our sources at the Airport reveal, when Veličan realized he wouldn't succeed with the DF, he played another card, this time through the HDZ, and is trying at all costs to reach Dragan Čović, the leader of the HDZ, finding his main leverage in the fact that he is Croatian.

First, Veličan tried to reach Čović through the director of the Mostar Fair, Dalefina Bošnjak, and now he has found another way. Namely, he is a member of the Organizing Committee for the reception of Pope Francis, who is coming to BiH in June, and through this, he is lobbying for Čović to help him remain in the position of director of Sarajevo International Airport.

However, given that it is not known which company will ultimately go to whom, uncertainty is growing, although the DF has stated that they will not dismiss directors at all costs, but will wait for their mandates to expire, and then they will announce a competition for filling the positions.
