Velež takes the lead over Željezničar in the match's final moments

(Patria) - The last two matches of the sixth round of the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina were played tonight in Mostar and Tuzla. At Tušanj, the home team defeated Igman 3:1, while in Mostar, Velež defeated Željezničar 1:0.

Unfortunately, in the build-up to this match, a fight broke out among fans of the two teams in Mostar this morning, and later a decision was made that there would be no away fans at the Rođeni stadium, which left the Sarajevo-based team without support during the 90 minutes of the match.

Velež almost took a surprise lead in the opening minutes of the match, when Krajnc crossed, Jašarević intervened, and the ball ended up hitting the top of the crossbar of the Sarajevo visitors' goal.

In the 15th minute, there was a scramble in front of Željezničar's goal; Krajnc eventually got to the ball and shot high over the goal. Krajnc had to leave the pitch due to injury already in the 18th minute, and was replaced by Anđušić.

In the 25th minute, Ćosić threatened the goal of his former club, but shot wide of Velež's goalpost. In the 37th minute, the visitors protested against referee Gigović's decision. They believed Gigović should have called a foul on Mekić, but he ruled that the ball was for the home team because Mekić had handled the ball.

Guliashvili had one attempt before the end of the first half, followed by Mekić, whose shot was saved by Hadžikić, and Mlinarić headed just wide of Željezničar's goal at the end of the first half, which was marked by two injuries. Besides Krajnc, Ovčina also had to leave the game, so Allyson came on in his place.

In the 50th minute, Oruč crossed, and Guliashvili missed the ball entirely from a good position. Shortly after, Anđušić was unselfish; Muftić easily saved his shot, but the impression was that it would have been better to pass the ball to Guliashvili, who was alone on the right side.

The next chance came only in the 70th minute. Halilović shot from 18 meters, but it was blocked. Halilović then shot from a free kick from about 20 meters at an angle, and the crossbar was the visitors' ally. Velež could have taken the lead in the 76th minute. Muftić made a big mistake; the ball came to Haskić, who hit the post from 13 meters.

The home team tried to apply final pressure to secure an important victory. It was clear that the visitors also wanted the full prize, but above all a point in Mostar, and in the end, the Rođeni team managed to secure the win. With a bit of luck, Haskić headed the ball in the 90th minute for the victory and a big celebration. Previously, Oreč crossed, and the ball bounced off Drina to Haskić.

This is Velež's second win, along with two draws and a loss, and with eight points they move to sixth place, while Željezničar occupies fourth place with nine points.

Both teams now go into a two-week break due to international fixtures, and then return in mid-September. Željezničar will host GOŠK at Grbavica, while Velež will be guests of Igman in Konjic.
