Velež sent Zvijezda 09 packing from Vrapčići with a firecracker display and announced a strong performance in the new season of the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina

(Patria) - The new season of the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina opened tonight, with the first match played between Velež and Zvijezda 09, and the hosts celebrated a high 5:0 victory.

Rođeni showed a brilliant game tonight and, in front of their fans, opened the new season of the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina in style, defeating Zvijezda 09 5:0. The result could have been even bigger, but the guests were saved by their excellent goalkeeper Jelovac.

In the fourth minute, after Velež's press, Anđušić stole a ball and set up Krajnc, who shot well, but Jelovac saved it. However, the ball came back to Krajnc, who failed to find the net even from the second attempt.

Five minutes later, Alen Krajnc had another good attempt, but this time the ball went wide of the goal. About thirty minutes later, Velež had two big chances through Milinarić and Anđušić, but Jelovac made two excellent saves.

Velež crowned the siege of Zvijezda 09's goal in the 19th minute of the match. After a cross from Krajnc, the defenders of Zvijezda 09 briefly cleared the ball, but Šturm then fired a brilliant volley from the edge of the box, beating Jelovac for 1:0.

Three minutes later, Anđušić tried from distance, but there was no danger for Jelovac's goal.

There were no major chances until the end of the first half, so the teams went into halftime with a 3:0 lead for Velež.

In the 53rd minute, Mlinarić took the ball from Zvijezda 09's defence and charged towards the goal, but Jelovac saved his shot.

However, five minutes later, Mlinarić scored for 4:0, with Džafić providing the assist.

In the 63rd minute, Mlinarić delivered a great cross from the left side, and Krajnc's shot was saved by Jelovac. Seven minutes later, Šikalo shot well, but Jelovac pushed the ball out for a corner, after which Zvonić shot over the goal.

Velež's players brilliantly dispossessed Zvijezda 09's footballers. Leai received the ball, went one-on-one with goalkeeper Jelovac, but shot wide of the goal.

Leai finally managed to find the back of Zvijezda 09's net in the 87th minute, following a brilliant move by the home players.

In the end, Velež deservedly celebrated a 5:0 victory, although the result could have been even bigger. However, Zvijezda 09's goalkeeper Milan Jelovac made several excellent saves.
