Velež Wins Seven Medals

(Patria) - The eighth international swimming meet "Sharks Kup" was held at the "Otoka" Olympic pool in Sarajevo. The meet, organized by the "Sharks" swimming club from Sarajevo, attracted over 360 competitors from Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Velež was represented by 11 swimmers: Danis Kadrić, Ajnur Talić, Fatih Boškailo, Danja Alikalfić, Kerim Hadžimusić, Ajna Talić, Ema Penava, Nejra Crnalić, Emin Begić, Amila Crnalić, and Abdullah Marić. In a very tough competition, we won seven medals.

The competitive season was opened by Ajna Talić (2012) with two gold medals. Ajna achieved first place in the 50-meter breaststroke and 100-meter individual medley disciplines. In the overall standings for her category, Ajna took second place!

Fatih Boškailo (2011) won two silver and one bronze medal. He achieved second place in the 50-meter butterfly and 50-meter breaststroke, while he won a bronze medal in the 100-meter individual medley.

Danja Alikalfić (2011) stood on the podium twice. She won a silver medal in the 50-meter breaststroke and a bronze medal in the 50-meter butterfly.

The number of medals could have been higher as we had several fourth-place finishes, but this will only be a tailwind for us to be even stronger and faster next time.

The next competitions follow very soon, so the training process at PK Velež continues at full capacity.
