Tonight in Goražde: Bosnian Premiere of the Film 'The Trap of the Invisible Child'

Between 25,000 and 30,000 women were raped during the past war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Many of them became pregnant and gave birth to children labeled as "invisible children". At the head of a column of children as long as the Great Wall of China stands Alen Muhić, reports the Patria news agency.

Alen was born in the war year of 1993 in an improvised hospital in Foča. His mother was raped in 1992, expelled to Goražde, and after giving birth, she left him in the hospital. The hospital staff took care of him, and later he was adopted by Muharem and Advija Muhić, who did not want to leave him at the mercy of life.

Director Šemsudin Gegić decided to make a second film about this young man. The first was called 'The Boy from the War Film' and was made when Alen was only 11 years old.

Now the story has found its conclusion in the documentary film 'The Trap of the Invisible Child'. The Bosnian premiere of the film will be held tonight in the large hall of the Goražde Cultural Center at 7:30 PM.

The film was made as part of the series "Oral History" produced by the Institute for Research of Crimes Against Humanity and International Law of the University of Sarajevo.

Alen Muhić is portrayed in the film by young Bosnian actor Armin Omerović.
