Is the document bearing the signature of BiH Security Minister Dragan Mektić, which confirms the formation of a Working Group for drafting amendments to the Law on Protection of Classified Information – forged, a question that arises after the minister himself spoke out, stating that he had never seen that document, writes the Patria news agency.
RS Police Director Gojko Vasić told Patria that everything is, to say the least, strange.
-I had information that Mektić signed the document, and that the Working Group has no representatives from entity interior ministries. When I contacted him, he told me that was not true. I asked myself whether the people who gave me that information had misled me, but when I learned from colleagues at SIPA that they had received that document with Mektić's signature, I realized either the minister is misleading me or he really does not know that such a document came out of his cabinet.
I believe an urgent investigation must be conducted to determine whether it is a forgery and, if so, to see who did it, Vasić emphasizes.
Vasić further states that the document has a protocol number, and that all institutions whose representatives are in the Working Group have already received the "disputed paper".
Mektić, on the other hand, claims that it is all a political construct, and that he first learned about the document from the media. Also, the security minister says that the only Working Group is the one formed two years ago, which includes representatives from the entity interior ministries.
Vasić reminds that the composition of the Working Group was agreed upon two years ago, that a decision was made on it, and that he sees no reason why representatives of the Federation MUP and the RS MUP should not be included, given that everything was harmonized and that it was only necessary to propose representatives of the institutions. The decision was published in the Official Gazette of BiH with the names of the Working Group members.
The disputed document that appeared in the public is dated September 1 this year and bears Mektić's signature.
The members of the working group are representatives of the Ministry of Security of BiH, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, as well as OSA and SIPA.
