State of emergency in Teslić: Classes suspended, civil protection teams on the ground

(Patria) - The Municipal Crisis Staff for Emergency Situations declared a state of emergency due to natural disasters caused by the enormous amount of rainfall and the overflowing of all watercourses throughout the municipality of Teslić and the disruption of all road communications.

Classes in secondary and primary schools in the municipality of Teslić are suspended until further notice. Civil Protection Staff teams have been on the ground all day.

Residents have been preparing and working to protect their homes all day, and have been on watch along the Usora River, fearing a repeat of 2014 when their homes and business premises were flooded. The Mayor of Teslić Municipality, Milan Miličević, said that due to flash floods, water levels have risen sharply in this municipality, and the most critical situation is in the settlements of Gaj and Stjenjak, where water has threatened households.
