Vandals smashed windows at Orthodox church in Kupres

(Patria) - Unknown vandals smashed windows in the Church of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Donje Vukovsko near Kupres during the Easter holidays and devastated the interior of the church, which was built in 1863 and declared a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Interreligious Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina condemned the desecration of the Orthodox Church and called on competent institutions to seriously address the resolution of hate crimes.

"Appalled by this inhuman act, we express solidarity with the clergy and believers of the Blagaj parish of the Dabar-Bosna Metropolis," the Interreligious Council in BiH announced.

The priest of this church, Father Marko Đurić, stated that only two Serbs live in the village of Donje Vukovsko, reports the Patria agency.
