Vahid Halilhodžić new coach of French giants Nantes

NANTES, (Patria) - Celebrated Bosnian-Herzegovinian expert Vahid Halilhodžić has officially become the new coach of French Ligue 1 side Nantes.

One of the greatest legends of Nantes is back in his team, where he played for just under six years during his football career, writes Sport Centar.

A large part of Vaha's career was spent in France, but fate has only now brought him to the coaching bench of this team.

The Bosnian expert's last engagement was with the Japanese national team, with which he secured a spot at the World Cup in Russia, but then, to general surprise, was fired just before the start of the Mundial.

Halilhodžić will replace Miguel Cardoso on the bench of the French Ligue 1 side, who was sacked after poor results at the start of the season in Ligue 1.

Nantes welcomed him with an emotional photo, as they combined Halilhodžić in the jersey of this team, as well as the coach, which clearly shows how much he means to this club.

During his playing career, Halilhodžić played for Nantes from 1981 to 1986. For Nantes, in the championship season of 1982/83, he scored 27 goals. For this famous French club, he played 163 matches in which he scored 93 goals, making him the third best scorer in the club's history.

How much Nantes means to Vaha in life is best seen in the fact that in his hometown of Jablanica there is a café called Nantes owned by his brother.
