Last night's (July 14) Champions League match between Sarajevo and Poland's Lech, although not ending with a good result for the home team, finished without incidents, writes the Patria News Agency.
Lech fans are among the most dangerous and well-known in Europe, and around 1,000 of them arrived in BiH.
The night before the match, they showed their hooliganism in Vogošća and Baščaršija, alarming the entire police force of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs.
As confirmed by the Minister of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs, Predrag Kurteš, 700 police officers secured the match last night, with some of them being members of the FUP, as well as from other cantonal Ministries of Internal Affairs.
- We are satisfied in the end that everything passed without major incidents, because they are indeed among the most dangerous fans in Europe, as we all know. We are glad that it ended as it did, peacefully and without major problems during the match, but also afterwards, says Kurteš.
