Matches without fans are a handicap for players

Next Saturday marks the start of the spring part of the championship on BH football fields. The transfer windows have closed, reinforcements have been brought in, and matches can begin. A few days ago, the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina made a decision banning fans from attending away matches. In a telephone conversation for the BH news agency Patria, the head of the coaching staff of the football club „Željezničar“ Hajrudin Dino Đurbuzović believes that „for true athletes and football lovers, this will be a handicap, but the Association's decision must be respected to ensure safety.“

He states that this will mostly affect the players, because the audience, and especially Željo's fans, provide additional motivation for the players. Đurbuzović emphasizes that, given that they were first in the first part of the championship, the goal is to win the title and the Cup and to qualify for Europe.

- Regardless of the fact that we did not bring in any big-name reinforcements, we are not giving up on either the title or the Cup. We will rely on our youth system, we have based ourselves on that, and whether we will be able to fulfill the desires and ambitions of the club and the fans with them, time will tell – says Đurbuzović.

He also briefly commented on the „biggest rival“, the football club „Sarajevo“, which enters this part of the season with several significant reinforcements.

- Everything that „Sarajevo“ has done is affirmative for BH football, it is clear that they are ambitious and they do not hide it. They are announcing the winning of the title and the Cup. Given the reinforcements, it is to be expected that Sarajevo will be a serious candidate – concluded Đurbuzović.
