(Patria) - The Assembly of the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) adopted today the Report on the Work of the ZDK Government for 2025.
Prime Minister Nezir Pivić, explaining the report, said that the Government in 2025 achieved an exceptionally high level of implementation of measures and activities with less funds spent.
Regarding efficiency, he said that 25 administrative bodies implemented planned measures and activities/projects within their competence, through a total of 126 measures and 765 activities.
- The overall implementation rate is as high as 98.3% of the planned measures and activities, with only 85.9% of the planned funds actually spent for their implementation.
Based on the achieved results, it can be concluded that the planned activities/projects were realized with less financial resources than planned, thus confirming the high level of work efficiency and fiscal commitment of the Government - Pivić points out.
He states that the effectiveness analysis shows that most indicators at the level of strategic measures record a positive trend, with certain goals achieved or even exceeded, especially in the areas of economic growth, exports, education and social allocations.
Responding to the objections of the opposition raised regarding the Report on the Work of the ZDK Government for 2025, Pivić said that he believes that it is precisely in these fields - natal measures, healthcare, fight against corruption, equipping the police and civil protection, and especially the economy - that they have done the most since the Government was appointed at the end of 2023.
- We are preparing a series of measures that will relate to demography, which will not only mean a specific financial amount of support for mothers, which is a significant amount. Only for that measure, the ZDK budget allocates 49,000,000 KM annually, and we are one of the rare cantons that allocates so much for this type of support.
We are preparing significant measures that relate precisely to the issue of demography and where each ministry, within its programs, will design measures that will mean precisely that support. So these remarks are absolutely unfounded and unjustified - Pivić responded.
Regarding the delay in the announced construction of the new building of the Cantonal Hospital Zenica, he expressed regret that this topic is returning to the political arena.
He recalled that, just before the last Municipal Elections, a permit was obtained from the Zenica City Council, which granted the right to do everything necessary for the construction of the new Cantonal Hospital.
- After the elections ended, we came to the annulment of that decision, and the key role in the annulment of that decision was played by the SDP councilors.
I think it would be fair and correct if they at least kept silent on this topic, and not accuse others who are fighting with all their might - we are making superhuman efforts to make such a significant project, which is significant for the community and which, certainly, cannot be carried out by the canton alone. We all must work together on this issue - emphasized Prime Minister Pivić.
He notes that the Government, despite obstructions, found a mechanism to bypass the "administrative structure, which is very complex and which blocked this important path."
- Just this year, we allocated a significant 20 million KM for this purpose. Work is underway on the conceptual design of the new Cantonal Hospital, and simultaneously work is being done on the construction of a new boiler room. The Cantonal Hospital, through multi-shift work, has already significantly reduced waiting lists.
After this public call, when we "reset" the waiting lists, we will strive and will not allow patients to ever again be in a position to wait for medical examinations - said the ZDK Prime Minister.
On the plan of fighting corruption, which was another of the objections, he claims that the Government he leads has done the most.
- The Law on the Fight against Corruption is in preparation, the Law on Reporting Assets of Public Office Holders is in its final phase, we have fully established the Office for the Fight against Corruption...
At a recent presentation by Transparency International - which, you know, is by no means benevolent towards this Government, and if you will, towards the political structure I belong to - they publicly stated that, from the aspect of transparency, the ZDK Government is the best in that regard - points out Prime Minister Pivić.
He also emphasizes that last year the Government realized the procurement of a helicopter through the ZDK Cantonal Civil Protection Administration.
From the aspect of the economy, he adds, the ZDK has made significant steps and has a positive foreign trade balance in the amount of 118,000,000 KM, and import-export coverage is 105.2 percent.
- For comparison, the federal level is at 50 percent. That means we have more than double the better indicators compared to the FBiH. And in that, among all cantons, we are precisely the best - said Pivić.
He also recalls that the volume of industrial production in the ZDK area grew by 4.8, while at the FBiH level it grew by two percent. These are, Pivić believes, clear economic indicators that speak about the work of the Government.
He notes that the ZDK Government today sent an open letter to the Government of the FBiH and the Council of Ministers of BiH asking them to do everything in their power to maintain steel production in Nova Željezara Zenica.
