Ahead of EYOF, illuminated Olympic rings installed at Mojmilo

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Numerous citizens who passed through the Mojmilo roundabout this morning could see the recognizable symbol of the Olympics, i.e., the illuminated rings installed as part of preparations for the European Youth Olympic Festival – EYOF in February 2019. The hosts of EYOF 2019 are the City of Sarajevo and East Sarajevo.

- The plan is to place attractive landmarks that remind Sarajevans of the unforgettable Olympic days of 1984 and announce a new major sports event that will attract thousands of young athletes from around fifty countries, at all entrances to the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina - wrote Sarajevo Mayor Abdulah Skaka on his Facebook profile.

The Olympic rings are more than two meters high and more than four meters wide, and are a symbol of Olympism, peace and fair sports competition.

- We realized the project in cooperation with the Novi Grad Municipality. This is, along with the ongoing renovation of the Olympic Museum, another step towards a more beautiful, Olympic and European Sarajevo - the mayor stated.
