(Patria) - At the initiative and invitation of Krug 99 to all political entities and non-governmental organizations to hold a public event to express the political will of the citizens of BiH, the first constituent meeting of the Organizing Committee for the rally was held yesterday.
Representatives of most state-building political parties and a number of non-governmental organizations responded to the invitation and constituted the Committee.
It was concluded that the invitation remains open for organizations that may not have expressed their interest in participating due to the short deadline to join.
The Committee concluded that the initial proposal to hold the rally on May 9, 2024, was premature, and decided to closely monitor political processes and upcoming events to finally determine the date, place, and time of the rally. It was decided that the rally would be held in the format of a public citizens' rally under the working title 'For a Sovereign BiH!'
The seriousness of the overall situation for the position of the state and peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina was emphasized. It was decided that the rally should have a state-building character, without narrow party approaches. The rally should reflect unity on the platform of fundamental values and key commitments to peace and democratic perspectives of a European BiH.
The Committee undertook the obligation to immediately proceed with operational organizational preparations and the formation of auxiliary bodies. A draft Declaration is being prepared, which will be finally defined at the rally itself.
Adil Kulenović was elected as the coordinator of the organizational Committee's activities.
