(Patria) - Agents of the Office for the Suppression of Corruption and Organized Crime (USKOK) arrived early Tuesday morning at the door of the apartment of Ivana Ninčević-Lesandrić's family in Split with the intention of arresting her husband Ivan for illegal construction in Katuni.
As Slobodna Dalmacija learns, the operation is currently underway, but the arrest itself has not yet been carried out because Ivan Lesandrić was not at the requested address.
In 2016, the husband of Ivana Ninčević-Lesandrić demolished two legal structures on his ancestral land, measuring 33 and 17 square meters, and without any permits, as confirmed by the department for construction and spatial planning, built a holiday house with a swimming pool.
Despite its illegal status, the house has a valid categorization certificate and receives tourists.
The disputed villa was built while Ivana Ninčević-Lesandrić was a member of parliament in the term from 2016 to 2020. She responds that this is an attempt at discreditation ahead of local elections.
Ninčević-Lesandrić is an independent candidate for the Split-Dalmatia County prefect.
