Plaques Awarded to the Most Significant Foreign Investors in BiH

The Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FIPA) organized an event on December 9, 2014, in Sarajevo called „Selection of the Most Significant Investor in BiH for 2013”, which it has traditionally organized for many years, FIPA announced, as reported by the Bosnian news agency Patria. 

Considering the importance of foreign investment for the country's economic development, reducing unemployment and the foreign trade deficit, introducing new technologies and management methods, and improving the competitiveness of the BiH economy, FIPA recognized the importance of organizing such an event with the aim of recognizing foreign companies whose investments were the most significant in the previous year.

The presence of foreign investors in our country sends a strong message to potential foreign investors that BiH is a country where investing foreign capital is safe and profitable, and significantly contributes to improving the image of BiH.

This year, awards were given in four categories:

- the most significant «greenfield» investment;

- the most significant investment realized through acquisition/privatization;

- the most significant investment that created the most jobs;

- the most significant investment through joint venture;

The company „EFT Rudnik i termoelektrana Stanari, Doboj“ was chosen as the most significant investor in the category - „Greenfield“ (establishing a new company/building a facility), „G Petrol d.o.o. Sarajevo“ was chosen as the most significant investor in the category -„Acquisition/Privatization“.

In the category - „Creating new jobs“ the company „Napco Beds Factory d.o.o. Petrovo” was chosen, while the company „Interwork d.o.o. Bosanski Petrovac” is the most significant investor in the category -„Joint venture“.

The event gathered a significant number of representatives of institutions, international organizations, accredited embassies, the business community, and the media in BiH.
