Hajj Office of the Islamic Community in BiH confirms preparations are on schedule, first pilgrims depart on May 16

(Patria) - Due to current events and the security situation in the Middle East, the Hajj and Umrah Office of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina has confirmed to Fena that there are no indications of this year's Hajj being cancelled, and that all activities are proceeding according to plan.

According to them, they are in constant communication with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia, from whom they have not received any information indicating changes in the organization, Fena reports.

If there were any indications of cancellation, we would have reliable information. Everything is proceeding normally - it was stated.

The Office states that they recently visited Mecca and Medina, where the situation is normal. The holy sites are filled with believers from all over the world, and internal transport in Saudi Arabia is functioning without difficulties.

They emphasize that all activities are being carried out with continuous monitoring of the security situation, with a special focus on the protection and safety of the pilgrims.

This year, Bosnia and Herzegovina has been allocated a quota of 2,922 pilgrims, including leadership, guides, medical, and media teams.

The first group of pilgrims from Sarajevo will depart on May 16, while the departure of the last group is planned for May 21. Departures will be organized through two flights per day, with a third flight planned for one day, ensuring all pilgrims are transported to Mecca within six days.

Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and represents a spiritual journey that brings together millions of believers from around the world.

For believers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, this is an opportunity to fulfill one of the most important religious duties and strengthen their religious and spiritual identity.

The Hajj and Umrah Office states that they will continue to implement all activities in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Hajj of Saudi Arabia, with the priority of ensuring the safe and smooth stay of the pilgrims.
