Prosecutor Burzić's Office Did Know About the Case Reported by Witness from Tegeltija's Case

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Former Chief Prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office Dalida Burzić stated for "Dnevni avaz" that no one ever called her, "let alone urged for the 'Alešević' case."

"I heard about this man when he sent me a cake. Only then did I see what it was about, because he wrote the case number on the cake. But, this is one out of a thousand cases. However, no one ever contacted me about it, not even an urgent request (Alešević) was sent to the Chief Prosecutor's Office of KS regarding this case, and he could have - Burzić told Dnevni avaz.

According to the magazine Žurnal, the president of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH, Milan Tegeltija, was supposed to "speed up" an investigation in a case where a businessman from Velika Kladuša, who was harmed, gave Tegeltija's intermediary Marko Pandža, a police officer, 2,000 KM so that the Sarajevo Prosecutor's Office would process the case in which businessman Nermin Alešević is the injured party.

Tegeltija denied allegations of his involvement in this corruption scandal, while Žurnal later published correspondence between Tegeltija, Pandža, and Alešević.

Although former prosecutor Burzić claims that Alešević "didn't even send an urgent request regarding this case to the Chief Prosecutor's Office of KS, and he could have," Patria was shown a document which indicates that the businessman submitted materials to the KS Prosecutor's Office, that the Prosecutor's Office conducted official correspondence with Alešević, and that Prosecutor Burzić was also involved in this communication.

"Regarding your communication with this Prosecutor's Office via email dated 18.02.2019, we inform you that your information, with the attached documentation, has been forwarded to the criminal case...", reads the email that Alešević received from the Office of the then Chief Prosecutor of the KS Prosecutor's Office Dalida Burzić at the end of March, while Prosecutor Burzić was also involved in this communication.

"At the same time, we inform you that the Office of the Chief Cantonal Prosecutor has reviewed the criminal case..., at which time it was determined that, contrary to your claims, the necessary actions were taken in the case file to make a final prosecutorial decision", states the rest of the correspondence between the Prosecutor's Office and Alešević, dated March 27 of this year.

Alešević reported to the Prosecutor's Office that several individuals, including Adnan Terzić and Amir Avdić, had taken out a loan from Bobar banka in the amount of approximately two million KM, and had illegally pledged the Agrokomerc facility in Velika Kladuša as collateral, where Alešević is a tenant, which hinders his business operations. Alešević reported the case to the Sarajevo Prosecutor's Office in March 2017. Two years later, the Prosecutor's Office still has not made a final prosecutorial decision on this case.

Prosecutor Burzić has been working as a judge at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina since the beginning of April, writes Patria.
