Use of Armed Forces only when other resources are exhausted

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Regarding the engagement of the BiH Armed Forces resources in providing assistance to civil authorities, in the prescribed procedure for responding to natural and other disasters, the BiH Ministry of Defence is the last instance for providing assistance, meaning the request for the use of BiH Armed Forces resources is submitted when all resources of other competent institutions are exhausted.

Should there be a need to assist those endangered by natural and other disasters, in this case floods, it is necessary to contact local civil protection centres at number 121. If local civil protection centres are unable to provide the necessary assistance, they forward the request to the entity civil protection centres.

In the event that the assistance of entity civil protection centres is insufficient, they forward the request to the Operational-Communication Centre of the BiH Ministry of Security at number 033/492-778, which is
competent for contact with the BiH Ministry of Defence regarding the engagement and use of BiH Armed Forces resources. The Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of BiH have placed their available resources on standby, so that, as before, they are available to civil government structures and all citizens of BiH.
