
(Patria) - The Mayor of Sarajevo Samir Avdić and the Deputy Chairman of the City Council Emir Bićo, ahead of the New Year's Eve celebration for 2026, visited the emergency services that ensure the safety, health, and protection of Sarajevo's citizens and guests during the holiday night.
They extended New Year's greetings, with wishes for a peaceful night and as few interventions as possible, to members of the Traffic Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton and the First Police Unit Centar, firefighters, BIHAMK's on-call teams, the Sarajevo Canton Emergency Medical Service Institute, the emergency centers of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo - Koševo Hospital and the "Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš" General Hospital, as well as the on-call Sarajevo pharmacies.
They paid special attention to the residents of the Gerontology Center in Nedžarići, whom they also visited on this occasion.
- Our elderly fellow citizens, as well as all those who spend the holidays at their workplaces, selflessly caring for others, deserve sincere appreciation, gratitude, and support - stated Avdić.
