FK Sarajevo Board: Those responsible for poor results will be held accountable, drastic financial penalties

Regarding the poor sports results of the FK Sarajevo first team, achieved during the month of March, a period in which two losses, one draw, and one win were recorded, along with elimination from the BiH Cup, the President of the FK Sarajevo Management Board, Edis Kusturica, convened an extraordinary session of the FK Sarajevo Management Board, which was held on Sunday, March 22, 2015, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

The session was attended by: the President and Vice-President of the FK Sarajevo Assembly, Maid Delić and Avdo Salihbegović, the club's Vice-President and Technical Director, Elvir Kantardžić, Management Board members Hajrudin Kapetanović, Mersad Mahić, Emir Salihović, as well as General Director Dino Selimović, General Secretary Mirza Hadžić, Sports Director Abdulah Ibraković, and Head of Professional Staff Meho Kodro.

Considering that wins and losses are an integral part of football and sports in general, the FK Sarajevo Management Board is of the opinion that these wins and losses can be achieved in several ways: through relentless fighting for every ball, every pass, fighting for one's teammate, fair and correct play on the field; that is, with what our players lacked in the past few matches and why we are most disappointed. It is the obligation, both moral and sporting, for professional players to make utmost efforts to achieve the Club's set sports goals, and to represent the Club worthily and representatively off the green field.

Therefore, at the extraordinary session of the Management Board of FK Sarajevo, it was decided that the first team players, as well as the members of the Professional Staff, due to the poor sports results achieved in March, and the displayed effort, which is not worthy of FK Sarajevo, will face drastic financial penalties in accordance with the Club's current acts and regulations.

Furthermore, the Management Board expressed its full and absolute support to the Head of the FK Sarajevo Professional Staff, Meho Kodro, in continuing the initiated processes of developing the Bordo Club's first team.

Members of the FK Sarajevo Management Board remind all employees, players, coaches, and associates of the existence of the Club's internal acts, especially the code of conduct on and off the field, and that they must be applied and respected, otherwise sanctions will follow.

Aware that excessive media attention has been created around FK Sarajevo, the Management Board has decided that all media appearances by the sports part of the club, relating to all coaches of all categories, all players of all categories, the Sports Director, and the Head of Professional Staff, will be limited to official press conferences, comments before, during, and after the Club's official matches, and during meetings with journalists at designated times.

Also, aware that our fans and sympathizers have the right to be disappointed and angry due to the (non)achieved results of the FK Sarajevo first team, we call upon and appeal to all those who are loyal and faithful to our Club, and there are many of them, to provide the team and the Club with the necessary peace together and to return to the winning track with joint efforts, and together achieve the set goals.

FK Sarajevo is an institutionally stable sports collective, which operates and functions according to a specific system of responsibility and rules, and we will not allow any form of destabilization by "well-wishers" and "benevolent people." Everyone had the opportunity through the investment-oriented Statute of the Club to invest financial resources and secure the right to vote and decide for themselves, and they did not do so then, but now they are trying in various ways to continue attacking individuals within the Club and the collective as a whole.

We emphasize that this is not an excuse for the team's results, which had all the prerequisites to achieve better performance.
