Halid Bešlić's Granddaughter: Grandpa, You Are Our Love, Pride, and Shield

(Patria) - A commemoration for the legendary BiH singer Halid Bešlić, who passed away on Tuesday, October 7th, began today at the National Theatre in Sarajevo.

"Today, there is autumn within us, nothing is the same anymore," said the host of the commemorative gathering. "On behalf of everyone, I want to say thank you. In these moments, when a sigh is stolen from our chests, I would ask you to pay tribute to Halid Bešlić in your own way. He sang as he lived – with all his might. He released more than ten studio albums and held countless concerts, including over 500 humanitarian ones. He traveled through life with music as his anchor."

Halid's granddaughter, Lamija, was the first to address the attendees:

"We wish you were with us for much longer. You know, grandpa, Mom didn't tell us you left us, but we knew. Grandpa, you are our love, pride, and shield. We wish you were here. They tell us it has to be this way, but we want you to still be here. We love you."

Today, visitors will have the opportunity to hear words from others who knew Halid Bešlić, remembering his contribution to music, humanitarian work, and love for life.
