(Patria) - Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton Adnan Šteta informed the public that contact cables have been stolen at the construction site of the tram line to Hrasnica, and that the contractor has reported it to the police.
"There is security. This is not the first time, but this time the damage is significant. Replacing the material requires both time and money, but neither the contractor nor the Ministry will give up.
If you think you will gain personal benefit this way, sabotage the project, slow down construction processes - you are mistaken", Šteta said.
He told the thieves that they "stole from all citizens, and from themselves too".
"Shame on you! The tram line to Hrasnica will be completed, regardless of how much some want the works to stop.
The construction site will also receive additional security, and I ask all citizens to protect our property, and to report any unusual situations to the Ministry, the contractor, or the workers at the construction site", Šteta appealed.
Otherwise, due to the construction works at the tram terminal in Ilidža and the connection with the line from Ilidža to Hrasnica, tram traffic to Ilidža has not been operating for months, and buses transport passengers to Nedžarići where they transfer to trams.
Šteta previously announced that trams to Hrasnica would start running this summer.
