Burial of 30 genocide victims: Final rest for four boys, father Vejsil, his son Hasib...

(Patria) - The remains of 30 victims of the genocide committed in the summer of 1995 in Srebrenica are ready for burial after the funeral prayer which will be held on July 11 this year at the Srebrenica Memorial Center - Potočari.

The youngest victim to be buried this year is a boy who was only 15 years old when he was killed. This is Salčinović Elvir, who was killed in the Baljkovica area, and his remains were exhumed from the Liplje mass grave near Zvornik in 2001.

Elvir's remains were identified in 2011, but the family has not had the strength to bury him until now. He will find his final rest next to his father Turabija and brother Almir, who were buried in Potočari in 2003 and 2011, respectively.

In addition to him, three more minors will be buried this year. These are sixteen-year-old boys Mekanić Mustafa and Klempić Esed.

Mustafa's remains were exhumed from the Ravnice - Glogova mass grave in 2001, while Esed's remains were found in a mass grave in Kamenica in 2001.

Đozić Semir was 17 years old at the time of his death. His remains were exhumed in 2002 from one of the numerous mass graves discovered in Kamenica near Zvornik.

This year, a father and son will find their final rest together. Mujanović Vejsil (52) will be buried next to his son Hasib (30). Vejsil's remains were exhumed in 1998 from the Hodžići mass grave, while his son Hasib's remains were found in 2006 in a mass grave in Kamenica - Čančari.

The oldest victim to be buried is Muminović Nezir, who was 65 years old at the time he was killed. He disappeared in the summer of 1995 in the Zvornik area, and his remains were exhumed in 2007 in the Kamenica area.

The remains of most of the victims were exhumed from graves discovered in the Kamenica area, then at the Hodžići, Liplje, Kameničko brdo, Baljkovica, Blječeva, Alihodžići, Snagovo locations...

The victims to be buried this year in Potočari are:

5. Đozić (Edhem) Semir, born in 1977 in Zabojna, Sreberenica,

6. Esmić (Meho) Mujo, born in 1940 in Gradina, Vlasenica;

7. Garaljević (Mehmed) Sakib; born in 1971 in Srebrenica;

8. Gerović (Mahmut) Mehmed, born in 1945 in Vlasenica;

9. Halilović (Ahmet) Ahmedin, born in 1976 in Vlasenica;

10. Hodžić (Ismet) Senid, born in 1975 in Žedanjsko, Srebrenica;

11. Ibrahimović (Abid) Sabid, born in 1974 in Ljeskovik, Srebrenica;

12. Ibrahimović (Haso) Hasib, born in 1946 in Hrnčići, Bratunac,

13. Ibrić (Šemso) Šaban, born in 1935 in Brezovice, Srebrenica;

14. Jahić (Huso) Ređo, born in 1935 in Zapolje, Bratunac;

15. Klempić (Alija) Esed, born in 1979 in Bukovica, Vlasenica;

16. Lemeš (Avdija) Zuhdija. born in 1949 in Beširovići, Srebrenica;

17. Mehinović (Ibro) Idriz, born in 1950 in Srebrenica;

18. Mekanić (Junuz) Mustafa, born in 1979 in Bešići, Vlasenica,

The departure of the sad convoy with the coffins of 30 genocide victims is planned for July 9 at 10 AM from JKP „Gradska groblja Visoko“. The convoy will stop in Ilijaš, Vogošća, and the arrival of the convoy in front of the Presidency of BiH building is expected at 12 PM.

Then the convoy will also stop at the Monument to the Murdered Children of Besieged Sarajevo 1992-1995, next to the Markale market in Baščaršija, and at the city mosque in Srebrenica.

The welcome of the sad convoy in Potočari is planned for 4:30 PM.
