(Patria) - Mayor of Vogošća Municipality Migdad Hasanović today organized a meeting to which he invited Nihad Uk, Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, representatives of the Ministry of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection, Kanita Imamović-Gušić, Director of the Directorate for Commodity Reserves of Sarajevo Canton, Enis Džihanić, Director of BAGS-Energotehnika, representatives of citizens Nisveta Huskić, Dženana Bundić, Adnan Alikadić and Muhidin Čardaković, while representatives of the Government of Sarajevo Canton and government institutions did not attend the meeting, while Director Imamović-Gušić justified her absence.
The meeting was attended by representatives of BAGS who were not authorized to give statements.
“We demand that the Government urgently activate commodity reserves so that citizens can get heating. I hope they will show more sensitivity and that this problem will be resolved, and that citizens will not fear every winter,” said Migdad Hasanović, Mayor of Vogošća Municipality.
Furthermore, Hasanović believes that this is an operational problem that can be resolved within 72 hours and that everything is in the hands of Nihad Uk, who must release the commodity reserves.
He also emphasizes that the blame is mutual, both BAGS and the Government of Sarajevo Canton, which is a co-owner of BAGS, are at fault.
Citizen representative of Vogošća, Nisveta Huskić, said that Prime Minister Uk's absence was rude and insolent.
“He is a 'digital prime minister' who only uses social media. Last night he invited us all to come to Wilson's Promenade and enjoy the charms of winter in a warm atmosphere, but we are not warm and our radiators are cold. I have over 100 calls to the Office of Nihad Uk - but no one picks up the phone. We have a serious problem; for example, I have an elderly neighbor who lost most of her family members in Srebrenica, she is alone and is afraid of the heater and is scared to turn it on because she fears a fire. The only solution is commodity reserves and access to commodity reserves,” said Huskić.
Citizen representatives state that their next measure will likely be blocking traffic.
“I think that moment is not far off. Tonight we will take to the streets and make a snowman; we plan to make a likeness of Nihad Uk out of snow. We have to warm up somehow,” said Huskić.
One of the questions directed at the mayor concerned the possible political background of this problem, i.e., whether the citizens of Vogošća are, in some way, being punished for how they voted in the recent local elections. Responding to that question, Mayor Hasanović emphasized that he does not want to believe that anyone serious in politics would resort to such methods, but that as time passes and the problem remains unresolved, that kind of suspicion can become legitimate.
Mayor Hasanović said that Adnan Šteta is a man of action, not reaction, and he sincerely hopes that he will have understanding for us.
“He has initiated many major infrastructure projects and I sincerely hope that in the coming hours he will initiate the resolution of this problem that no one has managed to solve before,” stated Hasanović.
Incidentally, Minister Šteta has today taken over the leadership of the Ministry of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Construction, Spatial Planning and Environmental Protection.
Since the beginning of the heating season, more than 700 units have not had a regular supply of thermal energy, and heating was turned off again on Saturday when weather conditions worsened and it is getting colder.
