UK and Zornić signed a new Collective Agreement for civil servants and employees, a fixed allowance for the lowest coefficients

(Patria) - The new Collective Agreement for civil servants and employees in the state administration bodies of Sarajevo Canton was officially signed in the Sarajevo Canton building on Friday, April 3.

The agreement was signed by Prime Minister Nihad Uk on behalf of the Government of Sarajevo Canton, and Elvis Zornić, President of the Independent Trade Union of Civil Servants and Employees of Sarajevo Canton, on behalf of the Trade Union.

This is the seventh Collective Agreement in a row, representing a continuation of continuous efforts aimed at preserving and improving the rights of employees, the Trade Union announced.

"Although the negotiations were conducted within limited budgetary possibilities, the reached agreement brings certain, but significant improvements.

Key changes and improvements include a general salary increase of 1% for all employees, which, together with the previous increase in the base of 5%, makes a total increase of 6%.

The new Collective Agreement increased compensation for past work from 20% to 24%, introduced the possibility of paying compensation up to 20% for performing additional tasks that are not systematized, thus more adequately valuing the additional engagement of employees, and equalized certain categories of employees with others, while introducing new non-material rights," it is stated.

The Government of Sarajevo Canton will, at the proposal of the Trade Union, pass a decision on the payment of a fixed allowance for employees with the lowest coefficients.

"The negotiation process began ambitiously, with the engagement of a professional legal team that included justified proposals collected through a public call in the working text.

However, due to the limited budgetary framework, which was the same for all branch unions, some demands could not be realized at this stage, although their justification was recognized," the Trade Union announced.

It is important to emphasize that all agreed-upon rights are valid from 01.01.2026 and will be paid retroactively.

The Trade Union believes that the maximum possible results were achieved under these circumstances.

"It is important to emphasize that the process of improving employee rights does not end here. A new meeting of the negotiation teams has already been agreed for June, when, depending on the dynamics of budget revenue, the possibilities for further increase in the income of all civil servants and employees in Sarajevo Canton will be considered," it was announced.
