(Patria) - British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney agreed that peace in Ukraine must be built with Kyiv, not imposed, a Downing Street spokesperson said.
The two leaders welcomed the continuation of international diplomacy, led by US President Donald Trump, "to bring about peace and agreed that it must be built with Ukraine - not imposed on it", Reuters reported last night.
"Both leaders stressed that Ukraine's future must be a future of freedom, sovereignty and self-determination," the spokesperson said.
The statement came as Trump is due to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday.
