(Patria) - Following today's signing of the Agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia on border crossings, the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a statement.
The ITA confirmed that international traffic of goods and passengers across border crossings between the two countries will temporarily continue in the same manner as before.
As stated in the ITA announcement, this rule also includes the traffic of goods and passengers across the new bridge between Gradiška and Gornja Varoš.
The signed interstate agreement defines the categories and operating regimes of border crossings, including crossings for international passenger and goods traffic with inspection supervision (so-called BIPs), namely six crossings: Svilaj – Donji Svilaj, Stara Gradiška – Gradiška, Gornji Varoš – Gradiška (New Bridge), Ličko Petrovo Selo – Izačić, Kamensko – Kamensko, Nova Sela – Bijača.
At today's press conference, the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, pointed out that there is still work to be done on the implementation of the agreement, as both sides need to engage additional capacities, and that the traffic of goods and passengers at the Gradiška border crossing will continue in accordance with the temporary solution of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The agreement also precisely defines crossings for international road and rail traffic, as well as crossings intended exclusively for residents of border areas.
