Officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority temporarily seized various goods in the regional centers of UIO Sarajevo and Tuzla, with a total value of BAM 400,000, writes the Patria News Agency.
The goods were temporarily seized in several separate operations due to the lack of any documentation regarding their origin.
As part of their regular activities, authorized UIO officials in the Regional Center Sarajevo temporarily seized a large quantity of goods being illegally sold in Bosnia and Herzegovina from legal and natural persons at multiple locations.
These include mobile phones, clothing and footwear, sunglasses, and a certain amount of excise goods such as cigarettes, coffee, and cut tobacco. The individuals from whom the goods were temporarily seized did not possess documentation of origin, meaning they did not declare them to UIO officials upon entering the customs territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The estimated value of the temporarily seized goods is approximately BAM 300,000.
Furthermore, in several separate operational actions, authorized UIO officials in the Regional Center Tuzla temporarily seized various goods being illegally sold on the BiH market. The total market value of these seized goods is slightly over BAM 100,000. These included cosmetics, various clothing items, sunglasses, footwear, and sports equipment. There was no documentation of origin for this goods either, which means they are goods that have been smuggled into the BiH market.
Authorized officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority will initiate proceedings before the competent judicial authorities against the individuals from whom the goods were temporarily seized.
