(Patria) - Authorized officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority (UIO) from the Regional Center Mostar have seized a larger quantity of excise goods as part of the operational action 'MARKET 2', which has been conducted across Bosnia and Herzegovina since the beginning of the year with the aim of detecting and preventing illegal trade in tobacco and tobacco products.
At four locations, 214.5 kilograms of cut and dried tobacco, two cutting machines with a capacity of 100 kilograms per hour, and a digital scale with a capacity of 300 kilograms were seized from individuals. The value of the temporarily and permanently confiscated goods and items is estimated at 94,000 BAM.
Legal measures prescribed by law have been taken against the individuals in whose possession the goods were found.
The UIO once again called on citizens to report any form of illegal trade, as well as tax and customs evasion, via the free and anonymous number 080 02 06 07.
