Police officer of MUP KS Directorate and a 19-year-old arrested: Illegally stopped a car in Visoko and physically assaulted passengers

(Patria) - Police officer of the MUP KS Directorate of the Ilijaš Police Administration Adin Aščalić was arrested with another person for the criminal offense of "violent behavior" and "false representation".

Aščalić started working in the police a few months ago, and he is originally from Visoko.

"On Wednesday at 02:25 AM, on the Visoko-Ilijaš road, in Sarajevska Street, persons: A.A., born in 2003, and H.B., born in 2006, both from Visoko, committed the criminal offenses of 'Violent behavior' and 'False representation', as announced by the MUP of Zenica-Doboj Canton.

A.A. and H.B. at the mentioned location, using flashlights, stopped a passenger motor vehicle of the brand 'VW Golf', driven by J.E., from Visoko, and in which were persons: J.E., J.A., and a minor born in 2013, all persons from Visoko.

'After the driver stopped the vehicle, the mentioned persons approached the vehicle, introducing themselves as police officers, and asked for documents for inspection, and when the driver recognized them, the mentioned persons physically assaulted the driver, as well as the other two persons from the vehicle. At that time, person J.E. sustained severe bodily injuries, while driver J.E. and passenger J.A. sustained minor bodily injuries, confirmed at the Cantonal Hospital Zenica.

Immediately after the report of the event, through the quick intervention of police officers, persons A.A. and H.B. were found, deprived of liberty and detained in the detention premises, where criminal proceedings were initiated against them. An investigation was carried out at the scene of the crime by investigators of the Visoko Police Station", the police bulletin states.
