Suspects Arrested for Damaging 14 Tombstones at the Martyr's Cemetery

(Patria) - Police officers have identified two minors suspected of damaging as many as 14 tombstones at the Martyr's Cemetery in Gornji Rahić, Brčko.

Namely, the Brčko District Police received a report at 10:45 AM yesterday about damage to tombstones at the Martyr's Cemetery in the locality of Gornji Rahić, after which they undertook measures and actions within their jurisdiction. The investigation quickly led them to possible perpetrators.

"After conducting an on-site investigation and investigative actions under the supervision of the duty prosecutor, the police determined that a total of 14 tombstones were damaged and identified two minors with initials M. M. and A. B., who are suspected of being the perpetrators of the incident. Following criminal processing and the compilation of all evidence, a report on the committed criminal offense will be submitted to the Brčko District Prosecutor's Office against them," said the Brčko police.

They stated that the investigation excluded the existence of motives for inciting national, religious, or other forms of hatred and intolerance.

As they concluded, due to this, the Brčko District Police will send letters to other stakeholders to undertake actions within their jurisdiction.
