Caterers must announce extension of working hours

The Decision on working hours in certain activities also sets the working hours of facilities where catering activities are performed.

In accordance with the said decision, catering facilities, including summer gardens in front of catering facilities, as well as freestanding open gardens, have their working hours set to end no later than midnight.

If a caterer decides for a specific reason to work after midnight, they are obliged to notify in writing the First Police Administration – Centar Police Station, and in catering facilities located in residential and residential-commercial buildings, also the representative of the apartment owners. The notification must necessarily contain the reasons for extending the working hours.

Given that the 21st Sarajevo Film Festival will be held in our city from August 14 to 22, 2015, owners of all facilities intending to extend their working hours are obliged to act in accordance with the said decision.

Failure to act in accordance with the above constitutes a misdemeanor for which a fine is prescribed. The provisions of the Decision do not apply to night clubs and bars, disco clubs and bars (except for those located in residential-commercial buildings of collective housing).

In accordance with the Decision on Misdemeanors against Public Order and Peace, the broadcasting of live music or the use of music reproduction devices is permitted from April 1 to November 1. In residential and residential-commercial buildings, including the garden in front of the catering facility as well as in freestanding open gardens, music broadcasting is allowed from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., and in commercial buildings and other commercial facilities indoors from 6 a.m. to midnight, while in the gardens of those catering facilities, music broadcasting is allowed from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Failure to act in accordance with the said decision constitutes a misdemeanor for which a fine is prescribed.
