The Association "Movement of Mothers of the Enclaves of Srebrenica and Žepa" is a non-governmental organization that gathers survivors and family members of those killed and missing in 1995 during the fall of the protected zones of Srebrenica and Žepa, reports the Patria News Agency.
The Municipality of Centar Sarajevo, led by Mayor Dževad Bećirević, has been supporting the work of this Association for years, specifically projects related to assisting the most vulnerable members.
This year, the Municipality of Centar allocated 6,500 convertible marks from its budget for a project to purchase and distribute school supplies and footwear for 15 excellent students from low-income families.
-The Municipality of Centar holds a special place in the hearts of all mothers from Srebrenica and Žepa, as we have been cooperating for years and receiving significant financial resources. This project includes 15 children, excellent students without one or both parents, from low-income families. Each child received 200 convertible marks for the purchase of school supplies, and this represents, above all, moral support for us, when we bring smiles to the faces of our children with such an act, stated the President of the Association, Munira Subašić.
In the first phase of the project, school supplies were purchased and distributed, while the second phase plans the purchase of footwear for the most vulnerable students, it was announced from the Municipality of Centar.
