(Patria) - The Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide and the Association Movement of Mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves sent a sharp letter, following the announcement by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić that the adoption of the Resolution in the UN General Assembly would open a Pandora's box.
"Given that the President of Serbia claims that Serbia will oppose the Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica with all its might, and that he is proud of the results of the campaign against Kosovo's admission to the Council of Europe and the Resolution on Srebrenica, hinting that the adoption of the Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica would 'open an unprecedented Pandora's box'.
We ask ourselves what does opening a 'Pandora's box' mean? Opening the plan of the 'Serbian world' with weapons obtained from Russia and China? Does it mean a new war or the continuation of the unfulfilled dreams of the Serbian president from the nineties?
Any threat to peace is a serious violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, and the very announcement by the Serbian president about 'opening' something is a call to the guarantors of peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina to protect peace.
The President of Serbia is a person who publicly threatened; 'for one Serb we will kill a hundred Muslims' and the statements of such a person must be taken seriously.
We call on all representatives of the international community to take the threats of Aleksandar Vučić most seriously and to urgently deploy NATO forces on the border of BiH and Serbia," the statement reads.
