Victims' associations supported lawyer Vasvija Vidović: We hope she will prove her innocence in the proceedings

(Patria) - During the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague (ICTY), 30 years since the crime in Ahmići was committed, victims' associations jointly awarded Ms. Vasvija Vidović the highest recognitions for her dedicated and committed work as a liaison officer with the Hague Tribunal - ICTY.

"The awards were given primarily due to her relationship with witnesses and victims of genocide, as her fight for the interests of victims has always been uncompromising and persistent, and we are grateful to her for her invaluable contribution to achieving truth and justice," the statement said.

It added: "The proceedings against Ms. Vasvija Vidović, which are being conducted at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, cannot and will not diminish in our eyes her heroic struggle shown as a liaison officer with the Hague Tribunal. We are following the mentioned proceedings with great attention, because Ms. Vidović must not be endangered in any case due to her work as a liaison officer with the ICTY".

"In this regard, we want and wish to believe that Ms. Vasvija Vidović, former liaison officer with the ICTY, will prove her innocence in the proceedings against her," concluded the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide and the Association "Mothers of the Enclaves of Srebrenica and Žepa Movement".
